Tim Ryan and Blake Walsh would share the front row of the 40 Lap, $175 to Win A-Main, the first twenty laps stayed clean and green, with drivers searching for the fastest line, with a genuine top middle and bottom, drivers were able to move around and also make their way forward, with some fantastic 3-4 wide battling. Unfortunately the nasty Knoxville Cushion took some victims bit past half way, including Bradley Oldfield and Joel Berkley. Tim Ryan made a mistake while leading on Lap 27, seeing the win vanish as he jumped over the cushion. This lead to a race for the win between Paul Bryan and Clayton Davies, both hungry for the win, while the battle pack behind heated up. Davies secured the lead and was able to stay infront to take out the Knoxville Nationals Victory, his fourth win of 2025. Paul Bryan continues his strong run of late to finish second and Ayrton Smith had a career best result for third. Nathan Van De Wakker and Brady Baldwin rounded out the Top 5.

Knoxville was wild! The gnarly cushion was taking no prisoners and a small mistake from some drivers cost them dearly!

It would be Ethan Winter and Koby Noonan sharing the front row for the 50 Lap A Main, and with track work taking place beforehand, it was key to maintain position early and have a good car underneath you for late in the race. Harry Stewart who started third, quickly made is way into the lead as the track evolved on every circulation, further challenging the drivers. Blake Walsh who started 9th, charged to 2nd and then engaged in a mega battle with Stewart, exchanging sliders for laps on end, also inviting Paul Bryan, Clayton Davies and many others into the battle.

Unfortunately for Stewart, he clipped the inside wall in Turn 3, damaging the front end of the Q96 ending his night. Bradley Oldfield seemed to come out of no where and challenged Walsh for the lead in the late stages of the race, taking the race lead inside 10 to go and hung on for his first win of the season, and incredibly, Oldfield come from 17th to take the win, which is the furthest someone has come from to win a ASC Series event. Ryan Strikes First: Tim Ryan Wins 2026 Opener at Volusia

Last Wednesday Night saw the beginning of a new era, the launch of the ASRG Sprintcar Pro Invitational Series, kicking off at the ever popular Volusia Speedway Park for the LCJ Carpentry Big Gator Bash with a massive 52 car field.

Tim Ryan took out Sim Wrap Market Quicktime during Qualifying which saw less than a tenth of a second covering the Top 10, and this would be Tim’s 4th consecutive Quicktime at Volusia through ODSE and now ASRG history.

The Five Mono Creative Heat Races were action packed, and it kicked off with Heat 1, Tim Ryan and American Aiden Forster exchanging blows to take out the first heat race win of the year, which allowed Ethan Pholi to sneak by after starting 5th to take that victory. Matthew Gowans, Joel Berkley, Zach Rattray-White and Clayton Davies won the remaining four heat races.

Now, Alphabet Soup time, which started off with the Wimmera Dry Cleaners C-Main, in which Rusty O’Neill would take victory and transferring to the back of the B-Main along with Bradley Minshull, Aston Hurley and Brenton Hobson.

The McSlide Race B-Main, to determine the final four positions for the 35 Lap A-Main was wild, with a lot of hard luck stories and plenty of big moves. Blake Walsh took the win in the B-Main, making it to the big show along with Thomas Mitchell, John Schultz and Nik Ryan.

The field comes to the Green flag in the A Main

For the A-Main, it would be Clayton Davies and rookie Ethan Pholi sharing the front row for all the spoils. Davies would jump away to an early lead, but all eyes were on Tim Ryan, who started position 11, moved all the way to third in the early stages before the first and only caution of the race on Lap 18 after contact with Blake Walsh and Joel Berkley, ending Berkley’s race.

It didn't take long for Tim Ryan to make his move, taking the lead on Lap 20 and never faltering, taking a commanding Round 1 Victory in a statement drive. American Tanner Pettit moved forward 10 positions after starting 12th to finish 2nd, with Clayton Davies rounding out the podium at the end of a fantastic race.

We spoke to Feature Winner Tim Ryan post race to get his thoughts after a very satisfying win:

"It is incredibly satisfying to come away with a win against such a high-quality field, especially after fighting my way through the pack from outside the top ten. I actually came into the night with fairly low expectations because I've been testing a new wheelbase design, and since I wasn't fully comfortable with the new equipment yet, standing on the top step feels even more rewarding."

The start of the new era was a huge success, and drivers are now all focussed on Round 2 at Husets Speedway for the McSlide Race South Dakota Brawl on April 8th

A Main

It would be Brady Baldwin and Nathan Van De Wakker sharing the front row for the final A-Main of the season for 40 Laps. It was a fantastic start to the race on a slick Lanier surface providing some fantastic racing from front to back, with the first 31 Laps of the race going green.

In that span, SSR team-mates Baldwin and Hobson duked it out for the lead with Van De Wakker, Joel Berkley, Blake Walsh and Clayton Davies engaged in their own battle. With just 3 laps to go, Berkley was going for the race lead on Hobson but unfortunately contact was made with the two hungry drivers going for the win, which seen Hobson have a half spin.

In a epic race with just two cautions, Berkley would cross the line first, but be relegated two spots post race, handing the win to Blake Walsh, his third of the year. Zach Rattray-White was impressive taking 2nd, his first career ODSE podium, with Berkley placed third, ahead of Van De Wakker and Hobson.

It was certainly a fantastic way to end of the 2025 Season, in which we will recap over the next few weeks.
